Carbon County Railway's two Baldwin VO-1000s, numbers 262-1 and 262-2, switch the yard at Columbia, Utah. Both units were built for the Defense Plant Corporation in November 1943, and became Carbon County Railway units in 1946 when U. S. Steel bought the entire Geneva plant, which included the Columbia mine, the Geneva mine in Horse Canyon, and the Carbon County Railway. (Bill Shaff Collection)
